For the tasks you keep in Notion
Due dates aren't do dates.
Do Date is a fast iPhone and iPad app for the tasks you already keep in Notion. It's built around the day you'll actually do the work, not just the day it's due.
Coming soon to the App Store.
The problem
Your tasks live in Notion. Your day doesn't.
Notion is a workspace, not a to-do list
It's powerful on a laptop and heavy on a phone, when you have twenty seconds to see what's on today or catch a task before you forget it. What you need there is something quick: today at a glance, and a new task captured in a few seconds.
A deadline is not a plan
Most task tools record one date: when something is due. That's a fact about someone else's expectations. Deciding "I'll do that Thursday" has nowhere to live, so it happens in your head, or not at all.
Quick add
Add a task in one sentence.
Tap +, type it the way you'd say it, and you're done. Do Date picks the dates, the project and the status out of the words, and shows you what it found before anything is saved.
Call the printer tomorrow 3pm
Invoice Acme by Friday
Book the venue #internal next week !waiting
It's all worked out on your phone, so it's instant, it works with no signal, and nothing is sent anywhere to be interpreted. Wrong guess? Tap a chip's ✕ and it's gone.
Triage
Your tasks, and nothing else.
Notion holds everything: notes, docs, wikis, other people's projects. Do Date shows only your tasks, already sorted into what needs you today.
Views that are already built
Today, Booked In, Due and Browse are ready as soon as you're connected. Booked In and Due group by overdue, today, tomorrow, the next seven days and later, and Browse groups by project. There are no filters to set up and no views to maintain.
Just yours
Tell Do Date who you are, and every list starts on the tasks assigned to you, plus anything nobody has picked up.
Then act on it
Swipe right when it's done, or left to push it to tomorrow or next week. One tap moves the whole overdue pile to today.
The idea
Two dates. Only one is yours.
Every task can carry a deadline and a booked-in day: the day you've chosen to do the work. They answer different questions.
Booked in: when you'll do it
Your plan for the work. It's your time, so it moves whenever your week does.
Due: when it's owed
Usually set by someone else, and usually fixed. It stays put while your plan moves around it.
What else it does
Small, quick, and out of the way.
Booked In and Due
The same tasks two ways: by the day you'll do them, or by the day they're owed.
Browse
Every open task by project, filtered by status, or sorted by what you touched last.
Works offline
It reads from a copy on your device, so it opens instantly and keeps working with no signal. Edits send when you're back online.
Fits your database
A short setup matches your own property names. There's nothing to restructure and no template to adopt.
Reminders
A nudge on the day you booked a task in, on the day it's due, or both. All-day tasks remind you at a time you pick.
Notion stays the truth
Every edit goes straight back to Notion, so there's no second list to keep in step.
iPhone, iPad and iPhone Duo
At arm's length, or with room to plan.
On a phone it's a quick list you can work through in a minute. On a bigger screen your lists, your tasks and the task in front of you sit side by side.
iPhone
Built for one hand and a spare minute. The list, the + and the swipes all sit under your thumb.
iPad
A sidebar of lists and projects, with the task you've picked open beside them. ⌘N adds a task.
iPhone Duo
A phone-sized list when it's folded, and the full side-by-side view when you open it.
Who it's for
People who already run their work in Notion.
Freelancers, consultants and small teams who keep projects, clients and tasks in one workspace, and need to triage between meetings, on the way somewhere, or in the ten minutes before the day starts.
If you've ever opened Notion on your phone to add one task and given up waiting, it's for you, whether or not you plan with a booked-in date yet.
You already have a system you trust. Do Date doesn't replace it. It makes it usable at arm's length.
Who it isn't for
- People who don't use Notion. There's no standalone mode. Notion is the point.
- Teams wanting a collaboration layer. Shared databases and assignments work because Notion does them. Do Date adds nothing on top.
- Anyone after a full Notion app. It shows tasks, not pages, documents or other databases.
